Open Outlook and select Tools > Account Settings... :-

These settings are for a standard setup. Your IT network manager may require different settin. If ion doubt, please ask.

On the next screen click New...:-



You will then get the screen below:-

Fill in your user name, your email address and password.
Check the Manually configure.... and press Next:-

Ensure you have chosen Internet E-mail.
Press Next :-

Enter your email address (you@yourdomain.co.uk) in E-mail address and User name, see above.
Enter imap.gmail.com in Incoming mail server.
Enter smtp.gmail.com in Outgoing mail server (SMTP).
Check the Remember password box.
Ensure the Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) box is unchecked
Press Next :-

Click Finish.

Select Tools > Options...

Select Mail Setup......

and then press Email Accounts

Highlight the email account and press Change.
You wil return to an earlier screen:-

Press More Settings and select Outgoing Server tab:-

Check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

Click the Advanced tab.

• Incoming server must be 993, and must use SSL encryption.
• Outgoing server can use 587, TLS encryption.
